The simplest message in the world

ABC to Heaven

Three simple steps to know God and receive the gift of eternal life.

Show me how

It takes about two minutes to read.

Salvation isn't earned by being good enough. It's a gift from God, offered to everyone, and it begins with three simple steps.

Admit

Acknowledge your need

Acknowledge that you are a sinner and fall short of God's standard. Admit your need for a Savior, and turn away from sin. That turning around is called repentance.

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23

Believe

Trust in Jesus Christ

Trust that Jesus Christ lived, died on the cross for your sins, and rose again from the dead to offer you new life.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God. John 1:12

Confess

Declare Jesus is Lord

Confess with your mouth and declare that Jesus is Lord, placing your faith in His finished work for your salvation.

Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved. Romans 10:9–10

Ready to take the step?

There are no magic words. God looks at the heart. But if you'd like help putting it into words, you can pray something like this:

"Lord Jesus, I admit that I am a sinner and I need You. I believe that You died on the cross for my sins and rose again. I turn from my sin and place my trust in You. I confess that You are Lord. Thank You for forgiving me and giving me new life. Amen."

If you prayed this and meant it, welcome to the family of God. That's the best decision you'll ever make.

What happens next?

Faith is the beginning of a relationship, not the end of the story. Here are a few ways to start growing.

1

Read the Bible

Start with the Gospel of John. It's the clearest introduction to who Jesus is and why He came.

2

Talk with God

Prayer is simply a conversation. Talk to Him daily, in your own words, about anything.

3

Find a church

Join a Bible-teaching church where you can worship, learn, and grow alongside other believers.

4

Tell someone

Share your decision with a Christian friend or family member who can encourage you.
